Clare PR was delighted to welcome the great and the good of the construction sector, along with the industry’s trade media for a boat trip down the Thames recently to celebrate 30 years in business.
Owner, Clare Ward said: “Ever since I established Clare PR in 1989, we’ve specialised in PR campaigns for built-environment related clients, and over the years we’ve worked for major names including Bovis, M J Gleeson, Sainsbury’s and P&O Properties, along with a whole range of established and start-up SME companies.
“Sustaining that success for three decades has been down to our in-depth understanding of the construction industry. Our knowledge and enthusiasm has ensured Clare PR has continued to lead the way in PR for the sector, with clients drawn from across the whole delivery process, from architects and consultants to main contractors, sub-contractors and a huge variety of building and electrical product suppliers.”
VIP guests included a host of influential construction and building journalists and clients, including current clients, Velimira Drummer, Interiors Leader at Stantec and Paul Nolan, National Projects Manager at Unitrunk. They enjoyed an evening cruise with live music and a summer barbecue, and we unveiled a video created especially for the event as we made our way down the river on board.
Commenting on her 30 years in business, Clare said. “There has been a lot of change in both PR and the construction sector since we first burst onto the scene. Standards in both sectors have never been higher and both remain extremely competitive but there’s one thing that has never changed, and that’s people. Both PR and construction rely on the talent of individuals and a genuine team ethos to see projects through to successful completion.
“That’s why we were so touched by the number of clients, former clients and editors that joined us for our 30th birthday bash, because it proves that we’re not only getting the strategic, tactical and knowledge-based elements of our job right but we’re also continuing to build mutually-beneficial relationships that last.”
This anniversary event was a continuation of a celebratory year that began in January with a revamp of the company’s website www.clarepr.com, and there’s been a #ClarePR30 hashtag on social media all year, along with blogs discussing the way the PR sector has changed, a quiz on Twitter and full page published articles in both the electrical and roofing trade media.
Clare PR wanted to ensure that the celebrations reflected the company’s areas of expertise and how it’s added to its range of services over the years. The Internet has transformed the way PR campaigns are designed, delivered and measured. In response, Clare has moved with the times as new channels and tactics have opened up, drawing on our nose for a story and excellent copywriting, while leveraging the opportunity to amplify the client’s message through social media, online content, awards and events.
That’s why this year of anniversary celebrations has included online content, social media, print media and the 30th anniversary event. And Clare thought it fitting to have a cruise for the celebration because Clare PR is a company that has never stood still throughout its 30 year history!
